Description
The Moen 1225 is the cartridge for single-handle Moen faucets installed before 1989 – the predecessor to the 1224. If your single-handle Moen faucet drips, leaks at the base, or has stiff handle action, and the faucet predates the 1224 era (typically homes built before 1990), this is the replacement part. Includes rubber seats and springs. Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, 1/8-inch hex wrench, slip-joint pliers, and ideally the Moen 1200 cartridge puller for stuck cartridges. Compatibility tip: if the cartridge in your faucet has a tab or stem that doesn’t match the 1224, the 1225 is usually the right call.
