Description
For single-handle Moen faucets that predate the 1224 era — typically homes built before 1990 — the Moen 1225 cartridge is the replacement when the faucet drips, leaks at the base, or the handle has gotten stiff.
It includes the rubber seats and springs. Quick way to tell it apart from the newer 1224: if the cartridge in your faucet has a tab or stem that does not match the 1224, the 1225 is usually the right call.
Tools: Phillips screwdriver, 1/8-inch hex wrench, and slip-joint pliers — plus a Moen 1200-series cartridge puller for the stuck cartridges common in faucets this age.
