Description
The basket strainer is the fitting in a kitchen sink's drain opening, with a removable basket that catches food scraps. The Sioux Chief 825-T is a heavy-duty stainless-steel version — the replacement when your existing strainer leaks underneath the sink, the basket has seized or corroded, or you simply want to upgrade from cheap brass-plated hardware.
Stainless lasts 20-plus years versus 5 to 10 for plated strainers, so it is usually a one-and-done repair. The hardest part of the job is loosening the existing strainer's locknut, which is often corroded in place after years under the sink.
It fits standard kitchen sink drain openings and seals to the sink with plumber's putty on the way in.
