Today, Plumbing by the Book is a free repair-guide site that recommends parts through affiliate links to other retailers (such as Amazon) — purchases you make on a retailer’s own site are covered by that retailer’s policies, not this one. The policy below describes our direct-store terms, which apply if and when our own store reopens.
This Refund and Returns Policy covers items purchased directly from the Plumbing by the Book store. Plumbing by the Book also publishes free repair guides and recommends parts through affiliate links; purchases you make on another retailer’s site (such as Amazon) through those links are governed by that retailer’s return policy, not this one.
Our 30-day return window
If you bought a part directly from our store, you may request a return within 30 days of delivery. To be eligible, the item must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging. Please keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase.
Items that cannot be returned
- Parts that have been installed, used, or modified
- Items missing their original packaging or parts
- Special-order or clearance items marked non-returnable at checkout
How to start a return
Email plumbingbythebook@gmail.com with your order number and the reason for the return. We will reply with return instructions. Unless the return is due to our error (a wrong or defective item), the customer is responsible for return shipping costs; original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you to confirm approval. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method, typically within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. If you have not received an approved refund after that time, please contact us.
Damaged or wrong items
If your item arrives damaged or you received the wrong part, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right at no cost to you.
Buying through our affiliate links
Many of our guides link to recommended parts at outside retailers. When you buy through one of those links, the sale, shipping, and any return are handled entirely by that retailer under their own policies. Always confirm the part fits your fixture before purchasing — see our finder and guides for help identifying the right part.
