Description
The Oatey reinforced wax ring is the traditional seal between a toilet and the floor flange. Its polyethylene horn extends down into the flange, which improves alignment and reduces the risk of waste leaking past the seal.
Any time a toilet comes off the floor — for flooring, tile, or to fix a wobble or a base leak — it needs a fresh wax ring, because wax does not reseal once it has been compressed and disturbed. The reinforced version with the horn is more forgiving of small alignment errors than a plain ring, which makes it the safer choice for a first-time toilet reset.
