Description
Rectorseal T Plus 2 is a multi-purpose pipe joint compound — pipe dope — for threaded plumbing connections, including water, gas, and steam lines. Many tradespeople prefer it over PTFE tape on threaded joints because it fills the voids in worn or imperfect threads that tape can bridge over.
Apply a thin layer to the male threads before tightening the joint. Because it stays workable rather than curing rock-hard, a joint sealed with pipe dope can still be taken apart later without a fight — a real advantage on connections you may need to service again. Unlike standard PTFE tape, T Plus 2 is rated for natural gas and propane, which makes it a versatile compound to keep on hand.
